The Pioneer Cabin, built by Wilson Butts in 1864 soon after his arrival, is considered to be the oldest log cabin in the city. The cabin has been fully restored and now represents a pristine example of what life was like the frontier miners of the 19th century. The cabin is located on the western outskirts of the town, near Hill Park.
