Though originally built by an affluent businessman in 1888 as a symbol of his abundance, the government seized the Original Governor's Mansion to be used as the residence for the state's highest power. Today, visitors can join a one-hour tour that explores the history and lore that resides within the three story Queen Anne-style mansion. The historic residence is located west of the city center, near Hill Park.
